Thursday: 7-12-01 ~ Final Fantasy

Yes I just saw the movie.... impressions... nice eyecandy (i.e. special effects) still some bugs with human movement, specifically walking. The story was... slower than I had anticipated. Very strong environmental theme. And don't get too attached to any characters. On a scale of 1-10, I give it overall a 6. But everyone should see it for the stunning animation if for no other reason. And, no, there was not a single Chocobo even hidden in the movie. There's no point waiting through the credits for additional animation/story. The credits are merely the credits.

Tuesday: 7-10-01 ~ can't Get No...

I am tired beyond words.... I've not been sleeping well at all lately... and it seems all I do is sleep. *SIGHS*

I've been having fun corresponding with some friends lately. Nothing like good and silly personal mail to brighten up my otherwise boring day. And I've been going ga-ga over this little jewel Stargate: SG-1 Archive. I've been a naughty WMC watching episodes from the T-1 connection I have at work! It's fun!

I can';t wait till Wednesday and the opening of Final fnatasy, I'm trekking off with some friends to see it. YEAH!!! I've only been waiting *FOREVER* for this movie to come out.

Wednesday: 7-04-2001 ~ Free to dream...

Hmmm, *yawns* I'm so sleeeeeeepy. I didn't get much sleep last night, maybe 4 hours, and then was on the run since 11am. For many of you that's late, for me that's 3 hours earlier then I'd wake up if I don't have class or work.

.We went out to lunch (some of the anime club officers and I). After we were fed and no longer disgruntled... much... we went to the movies and we saw A.I. It's great, a tear-jerker, but great. It's about a 2.5 hour long movie though. Just keep in mind it's extremely dark, and frankly the child actor... is truly a genius at his craft. In my opinion he should get an academy award nomination for best actor. And it's so *RARE* I actually think that. @_@

After the movie we went over to a Bar-B-Que hosted by a mutual friend of ours at one of the residence halls on campus. It was interesting to see someone Bar-B-Queing with chopsticks. The food was good ^_^ But our eating companion.... scared everyone away. He was one of those fanboys who would talk on and on and on about the handful of anime he's seen. He kept speaking of the various Dragon Ball incarnations saying they were bad... over and over and over again. My roomie rues her decision for wearing her Ranma 1/2 P-chan shirt. I escaped the meal and went to play sand volleyball. I had a wonderful time despite the fact the court was all wrong. The sand pit was too deep, it was like trying to move through molasses, and they had used play sand instead of beach sand. Play sand has larger granules of sand and gives a horrible suction effect. Despite that I made some amazing digs. I was quite proud of one of them I dove, hit it with my arm, and then hit the sand rolling over. It was sweet.... although I paid the price for my enthusiasm... it took me forever when I got home to get all the sand off. Bleh.

I'm thoroughly worn out though. I played volleyball in the Hot Texas summer for over 2 hours. I have a feeling I'm going to sleep like the dead tonight. So this tuckered out WMC is off to bed-chan na no da. Hopefully I'll get some nice sweet Chichiri dreams.

Tuesday: 7-03-01 ~ Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

Yes I realize I haven't updated this in a while. My life has been fairly mundane as of late. I like it that way ^_^ Currently I'm thankful that they *FINALLY* have fixed the air conditioner, however it's still quite warm, but it is slowly cooling off. I thought I was going to die. >_<

I've updated my Jukebox, this time around I have the Wish OST and the Bronze - Zetsuai since 1989 OST up on my site. Remember, it will be up for a limited time only, so grab it while you can.

I am mightily annoyed at the audacity of some bakas who cannot comprehend the concept of *RULES*. For those not of the Weib Kreus FanFic Mailing List, I'm one of the admins. I've been cracking down on erroneous and off-topic posting as was the request of Tin when she asked me to co-admin with her. Some of the offenders are acting so snippity. Bleh. I didn't get the rules I'm new. The rules are in the welcome message. Now there appears to be an exodus of people who can't handle the rules who are posting their public goodbyes on list as they trash me to no end. I don't even have the pleasure of banning them, because like the immature brats they are, they insist on having the last word. They can bash me to their heart's content, I'm more irritated at the erroneous posting on the list then their content.

I'm so envious of Heart-sib. Our mutual net friend Yanwen (who made the Chichiri with WMC image that adorns this page) gets to meet up and dine at Go, a Japanese restauraunt in New York City. God, I'd kill for some of their fried ice cream with red bean sauce about now.

Er... new search engine query: free previews of Japanese rape movies

I am deeply disturbed. o_@

Now something for your amusement... as many of you should recall, a couple weeks back a friend of my roomate's had come over to visit and had brought with him his collection of anime on cd's. I apprehended his cd wallet and began the joyous task of copying nearly 12 gigs worth of anime to my harddrive, as well as confiscating a few cd's to copy once I burned the previous files on my computer to cd to free up harddrive space. Well Keegan had my left-over change from dinner, and had left with it.

So a week passes, I go away to my parents for the weekend and when I return there is money on my desk and the cd's I borrowed are gone... so I send this to Keegan:
You're stalking me!

You snuck into my bedroom.

Hentai!

*smacks him with Sana-chan's mallet of Doom *TM* *

In other words, I got the money and you obviously got your cd's back.

Thanks again for letting me borrow them. I want more.

You realize I'm now your junkie, so get to work and supply me :P
He replied:
You know... you've had your sample, now it's going to cost you...

I also layed on your bed ^.^ It smelled sooooooo good

*whaps himself*

Anyways... sorry you weren't there so I could give you more... but there's always next time ^_~
And he really was in my bed while i was away. My roomie's friend was staying over but she had to watch her little brother, and they assigned him to my bed. Keegan was proving that it was a good bed to sleep in, so the little tyke would.

On side notes... Clone-chan and Evil Bastard :P your latest pita entries are.... scary... very, VERY scary.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July! I'm looking forward to it for once. I am going out to Japanese for lunch, to a bar-b-que for dinner, and to play volleyball with my friends. Little known fact, I'm addicted to Volleyball, I can play it for HOURS, sadly I rarely find anyone to play with :(

Tuesday: 6-19-01 ~ Survival

The family reunion was... tiring. I got no substantial sleep all weekend. I crashed for nearly 24 hours when I returned to just *SLEEP.* I saw all of my surviving paternal aunts and uncles. One of my aunts I hadn't seen in well over 8 years. it was so ironic, Ihad greeted everyone else and she goes "hi, you probably don't remember me but I'm your aunt Alma." I laughed "You're the only one with the family face I didn't know off-hand, so I knew it was you." See in my family everyone looks the same, I look like my Daddy, and my Daddy looks like all of his siblings in through the face.

The second I walked into the door, my second cousin Frank (who is 13) approached me and asked "is there anymore of that Kenshin series you showed me?" Ah, yes. The corruption of the younger generation. (Last time he visited I showed him tape 1 of Kenshin). I was stuck sleeping on the couch which killed me back. My aunt came in and turned on the lights so when I had gotten to sleep that WOKE me up. And for some odd reason between 4am-5am the bugs came out in force. I was actually proud of myself, I dind't scream, but I killed them. Although I made Dad in the morning do bug disposal duty.

After I came home, my roomate, a fellow anime club officer, and a anime club member dragged me off to the movies to see SwordFish. I was pleasantly surprised. The opening dialogue is highly ironic and was quite a hoot! I have to admit it was one of the most original plots I've seen in a movie in a long time. I couldn't predict *SQUAT*, which is in my opinion the mark of a good movie. It's definitely worth watching :) I also saw Atlantis with my cousin Frank over the weekend. It's not the blantant Nadia rip off I feared, however there is definitely some NADIA influence into the movie. Someone made a fairly valid interesting observation, the main male character in Atlantis resembles not only Jean from Nadia, but Harry Potter. Coincidence? I think not.

Clone-chan: DA! *glomps and hugs* Let me know when you go under the knife so I can hopefully send a get well soon card to arrive sometime this century. (No I have yet to receive a single snail mail thing from you). As to the search engine query of castration...

It reminded me of the story of male devotees of the Thracian god Attis. When the Romans conquered Thrace, they were pretty lenient about allowing the indiginous religions to continue practice. They had a nasty surprise when they realized WHAT that entailed because by then, worship of the god Attis and the goddess Cybele was becoming popular among ROMAN citizens. the Roman government outlawed Roman citizens becoming " gallo" (spelling?) or priests of Attis, though the worship wasn't forbidden at that point. The reason it was forbidden for a Roman citizen to become a priest of Attis was that when they were ordained when during ritual, festivals and the like they would go into ecstatic trance, run through the streets, cut EVERYTHING off and toss it through some poor unsuspecting fool's window. That person had to clothe the men in women's clothes and take them to the temple of Attis/Cybele.

Interestingly enough, The Ka'aba stone so sacred to teh Muslims is actually an acient representation of Cybele and housed in stone shaped like a vagina. It was from pre-Roman times, HER symbol. The muslim clerics that tend it are even now called "priests of the old woman".

Eli is not like elevator, it's like E-lie, as in the famous inventor of the cotton gin, Eli Whitney. But Eli Moon for Eriol, *gags* that sounds like he's a character on Sailor Moon. *ROFLMAO* Then again maybe it's a good thing the name is E-lie... afterall Eriol does lie, alot.

My latest search engine queries: drugged breasts, & boy sniffs. Don't ask me. o_@.

Wednesday: 6-13-01 ~ Music of the Night...

*giggles like a fiend*

I've added a new section to my website, WMC's Juke Box. I have several zipped files of MP3's over there (some are currently being uploaded, so if the links don't work yet, keep trying ^^). I've added the theme to Omishi Magical Theatre (note: previous pita entry) and the Tokyo Babylon songs (which are hard to find)!

Let me know how it works for everyone! The songs available will rotate periodically.

Tuesday: 6-12- 01 ~ I want a Shinigami.

Ok, I have been anime struck with the fangirl arrow of LOVE! There's this *KAWAII* new series called Omishi Magical Theatre. (The link has the first 3 episodes available in real media format).

So... what's it about? ^_^ Well the series starts with a young Junior High Girl who is very blue with depression, Risky, an apprentice Shinigami (angel/devil of death) is attracted by her misery and comes to steal her soul. However, he's so cute (trying to be all smirky evil with attitude) that he makes her laugh. Her overall state of emotional well-being changes until she is happy and it summons... Safety, the apprentice angel. (Risky & Safety share the same body). The series is about the adventures and mishaps that occur. And it has the *GREATEST* beautiful closing theme. It reminds me stylistically alot of the first ending song for Kaitou Saint Tail.

I want a Risky Shinigami of my own to torture *pouts*.

Tuesday: 6-12-01 ~ Do you have pointed ears?

One ring to rule them all
One ring to find them
One ring to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them.

Ah, the film trilogy I have been waiting for 3 years now to see is nearing it's date of release (Us release is Dec. 19, 2001). And frankly, from the previews I've seen, and the behind the scenes info, it looks truly worth the wait.

For those of you who have being oblivious off in your own delusional corners of your world, I can't believe you haven't heard about the Fellowship of the Ring trilogy based off of J. R. R. Tolkien's world famous novels. What's really interesting about the film, is all 3 movies were filmed concurrently in an attempt to keep the integrity of the film the same for the characters, appearances, sound, and design.

Much meticulous care has been taken to be as true to Tolkien's books as possible. Languages and dialects of those languages have been created for all th einhabitants of middl-eearth and carefully portrayed in production. Each species, hobbit, orcs, elves, humans, etc have a fighting style unique onto themselves.

The visual quality of the production is just aesthically captivating. I've been looking forward to this movie far more than I have the Prequel trilogy to Star Wars.

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait. ^_^

Monday: 6-11-01 ~ Should I be scared?

These were the most striking of recent queries submitted via search engine which produced my site as a result:
  • electro + stimulation + mistress
  • hustler + wmc + 2001 + pics
Da.... that's just creepy. I have never modeled for any ublication let alone Hustler @_@.

Monday: 6-11-01 ~ Traveling Blues...

I enjoyed the Ushicon Staff meeting down in Austin this past week. It was great to finally be able to place faces with names, as well as to giggle and tickle USagi like a fiend as we chased her husband out of the room to sleep on the couch just because we were being onre. ^_^ It was great fun!

The road trip back however was... an adventure. Quasi (who I rode down with) had agreed tot ake two of the staffers back from Austin to Lubbock, then drive us back home to the DFW area. The trip took us nearly 14 hours. The half way point between Austin and Lubbock is roughly Abilene which is about 4 hours away. We stopped off the guys needing a bathroom break and me dying of thirst at a convenience store... which I recognized as being the one literally right up the street from my cousins. So I looked their number up in the phone book, gave them a jangle and told them I'd be back after dropping some people off in Lubbock, and that I could come by and manage about a 30 minute visit if they were able. We arranged it, and then I took over driving duties from Abilene to Lubbock. Basically, I was the only car for as far as I could see both ways for large portions of the journey. And it was a 6 hour drive there and back. Why did we return to Abilene? Well there is no way to reach DFW from Lubbock except through Abilene. It's irksome to have to repeat 3 hours of your trip, but at least my cousin stuffed us with homemade ice cream and brownies. As I was leaving she said "I'll see you in a week." I looked at her blankly "huh." It appears we are having a family reunion and I wasn't invited, or rather, my parents forgot to tell me. (A senility and old age goes hand in hand :P)

I'm returned to my parents house at nearly 3am, and have been unable to get on the computer this weekend due to my parents icky connection. BLEH. It's been driving me insane!

Heart-sib I've missed yew!!!!!

Monday: 6-11-01 ~ That's Entertainment...

I saw this past weekend the new movie Moulin Rouge. It was a 'spectacular Spectacular' of visual and auditory delights. A sumptuous feast of color, movement, and design. It is very much a musical, but surprisingly it lacks very few original numbers. Most of the numbers are redone versions of older songs, or a medley arrangement of several older popular songs such as: Lady Marmalade, Like a Virgin, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend, etc. The story is very... lacking. The movie becomes quite cliche. It seemed a combination of several movies, operas, and other popular media artforms. The cliches all swirled together into this one film. Yet despite all that, it does present a very fresh and original face with it's presentation of at least the musical numbers. Look for "Like a Virgin", it is a riot of laughter, in the film. McGregor and Kidman can really SING. What's the odds of George Lucas working that into Episode 2, or perhaps Episode 3??? The movie is meant to be enjoyed with your eyes and ears, and not your heart or mind. Things to look for: the "bird", and the "X:1999" scene.

I also rented two movies, Charlie's Angels and Pay it Forward which I had not seen yet. Charlie's Angels was cheesy, and corny, and so unbelievable all around. It lacked depth, but was a fun way to kill some time. Pay it Forward is perhaps one of the best films I think I've seen in a long time. Original story, great acting, good concept. I felt my soul was touched, and that's a rarity for any film in recent memory for me. The ending was very powerful and evocative. it reminded me in a way... of the final scene in Dead Poets Society (a long time favorite of mine).

I'm looking forward to some of this summer's releases: Tomb Raider (for pure fun), Final Fantasy (the animation), Disney's Atlantis (so I can see how much they ripped off Gainax's Nadia: Secret of Blue Water), Jurassic Park 3 (to see how bad it sucks, Spielberg didn't return for this movie), Planet of the Apes, A.I., etc. Disney's Atlantis opens this coming weekend, and they aired a special on behind the scenes stuff as well as the scholarly debate surrounding Atlantis (which was infinitely fascinating). The most likely current theory is this:

From Plato's account we know that Atlantis was destroyed approximately 9,000 years before Plato's life (approximately 12,000 years to us). It existed outside of Hercule's Pillars (believed to have existed at the straits of Gibraltar). Through process of elimination it leaves Atlantis as being somewhere in the Atlantic ocean... but where? If it were there, then it had to have been located at a beneficial spot in the sea because boats were not all that great back then. The Atlantis ocean has a circular current, that will take ships fromt he Mediterreanean and lead them to the Caribbean before it swings upwards to return to what we now refer to Europe. So, that now focuses the search to the Caribbean. Looking into the geologic record comes an interesting fact. Around 12,000 years ago a comet (think small-scale Shoemaker-Levy) impacted the Earth, specifically the eastern coast of the North American continent. This information is collaborated by records from native peoples in both North and South America. The Carolina Bays were formed from these comet impacts. By estimating and calculating the effect of this geological impact... scientists have concluded it affected the environment because of a North American extinction which is preserved in the geologic record. This was at the time the last Ice age suddenly started changing and became warmer. If Atlantis did in fact exist it most likely was flooded by the sudden melting and comet impacts in the Ocean causing huge tidal waves.

Scientists keeping these factors in mind began looking not for a sunken city... but rather an island in the Caribbean which both fit Plato's description and was under water or predominantly under water at around this time, that also fit with the Atlantic currents... the answer? Cuba. Which was completely immersed in water up to it's mountain range, and the water slowly receeded. Part of Cuba that should ahve been above sea-level 12,000 years ago still remains under water.

It's at least the most plausible theory I've heard in a very, very, long time. ^_^

Monday: 6-11-01 ~ Musings

Any American has surely heard of the upcoming execution of the Oklahoma City Bombing. It has been all over the news all week. I'm sure most of the international readers of this pita have also heard of it, but for those few... let me give the background.

The bomber had served in the US military during the Gulf War against Iraq in the early 90's, and later honorably left military service. Years pass, and a religious cult (Branch Davidian) holds up their families and children as hostages in a community in Texas. It appears that suicide measures were taking by at least *SOME* of the people in the cult compound. It is still unclear to this date if said measures came before or after the government officials stormed the compound. Several years after the incident no one knows with absolute certainity who fired the first shots (so to speak).

A year to the day, a federal building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma gets blown sky high, and well over 100 people lost their lives, including the children who were in the nursery (referred to as "collateral damage" by the bomber).

The bomber was apprehended, tried, convicted, and sentenced to the death penalty, and finally that is to be carried out a few hours from hence.

I have no qualms about his death. His ending will be far more merciful a one then what his victims (both living and dead) received. But I do have one problem with the whole thing: the media.

He will face his death most likely as some martyr for the 'cause.' The media coverage is only adding to his notoriety. There are those people out there who surely think that this murderer and terrorist is 'honorable.' Why add fue to the fire of future malcontents? It's bad enough when there are TRADING CARDS of convicted serial murderers.

I believe in the old way. His name should be stricken from the record, from speech. It is enough to know that there was a bomber who convicted these acts who paid (or soon shall pay his corporeal if not divine punishment) the consequences for his actions.

There is a population of teenagers and young adults who read up avidly on these serial killers, who think they are 'cool' and who would like to one day be like them.

The media is to blame for this, their sensationalist coverage of the crimes, gives a fame that surpasses death to these criminals. And that is exactly what they want.

Wed: 6-06-01 ~ Star Trekking...

Da. ^_^ Brand new pita page again. WOOHOO! Look how squeaky clean this is. ^_^ THE FOOLS! Shall be tricked by my seeming innocence. OHOOOOOHOOHOHOHOHOHO!

I'll be out of town the next couple of days working on Ushicon business. Yes, it does mean Cow Con ^_^

A-kon was this past weekend. My roomie was so sweet she got me autographs of some of the guests she knew I liked even when she had no clue who they were. Ahhhhh.

LOOK at Rence's new pita layout! Isn't it spiffy keen-cool? Kailing did a good job on it!

Clone-chan: the new layout looks great! I've not heard of EsperS before, so why do you like it na no da? I hope you get to feeling better soon, and I hope you can come down and visit in late June. If not, and your parents are still planning to visit your relatives, I could mail the donated tapes to your relatives for your parents to take home with them?
