I am so unabashedly hooked and obsessed on Final Fantasy 9 now. Everyone *points towards her roomie* blame HER. I'm somewhere past the half way point on Disc One. I'm at the Dragon's Gate. I need to back track into the city and do some shopping though, specifically for synthesized weapons. I had already left before doing that, and I really regretted the experience. I died soon after entering the Grotto towards the undersieged country of... Burmecia? I'm so bad with names. -_- I need to build up my characters, they need higher levels and more learned abilities. Not to mention the lack of synthesized weaponry really hurt me as well. I do find it endlessly amusing I have a character in my party called Freya. I'm getting flashbacks to divine messeages of why I haven't worked on my thesis I had throughout Final Fantasy 8 when my roomie played it and I watched. *ARGH*
Friday: 8-17-01 ~ Laws of Gravity
I have become obsessed with a new anime, Gravitation. The story has some shounen-ai (boys love aka. homosexual) content. The manga nor the anime at any time becomes graphic, it alludes tastefully to love scenes without showing details.
The main character of the series is Shindou Shuuichi. He's an aspiring amateur musician aiming for a professional career with his long time friend Hiro in a band they formed together called Bad Luck. They both idealize a band that preceding them called Nettle Grasper. One of the members of this band, Ryuichi, is pursing a solo career. Another member, Seguchi Touma, now runs a record company that is currently handling promotions for Bad Luck and a rival band ASK. His brother is Yuki Eiri, a famous novelist. One evening as Shuuichi heads home the lyrics for his latest song are snatched away by the night breeze. Yuki picks them up, calls the lyrics elementary, etc... which leaves an impression in Shuuichi's mind. He later becomes so furious he stands in traffic to get Yuki to stop in his car (when he spots him again by chance) to demand and apology from Yuki. Yuki is impressed by... the honest sincerity of Shuuichi's emotions. This becomes the start of their yo-yo relationship which is on again, off again. The two factors preventing a smooth courtship 1) Yuki Eiri has a shadowed past and has been deeply and emotionally scarred 2) Shindo Shuuichi is somewhat naive, and a simpleton.
SO... why do *I* love this series?
Almost every guy, even for a small role is a bishounen! Or at least easy on the eyes.
It's funny as hell. I've laughed so hard I was crying at parts.
The night was... fairly ordinary until the power cut out. My roomie, our friend Calvin, and I congregated in the living room and were having fun just talking. When the power resumed well past midnight... I convinced my roomie to play Final Fantasy 9. I *LOVE* watching the animation sequences. At one point as she was working on hooking up vcr's to make library copies for our anime club (my VCR had been hooked up, but it won't turn back on after the power supply was interrupted >_< and it's barely 2 weeks old!). So I did what I have not done in YEARS. Played a video game. And continued to play it until I died near 7am. For those of you familiar with the game, since it wasn't my memory card I couldn't save as I went and I died facing Black Waltz #2.
I guess a good thing from keeping me occupied was it allowed for me to finish uploading the files to my server for the Juke Box's next update. This go round, I have X-Japan's Art of Life, Forever Love, and Crucify My Love. I have Sasaki Yuko (as requested by Usagi) songs and the Risky/Safety duet from Omishi magical Theatre. I've added some additional Japanese Digimon songs. To share my latest anime obsession, Gravitation, I've uploaded 5 songs, including the opening and closing, as well. Enjoy!
Oi! MM, when are you going fishing again?
Sugar & Spice... ...Everything nice
